25 school children gathered outside a bus with two adults accompanying

A party of 25 schoolchildren from Rothwell village off on a free holiday, on 20th August 1983, to the Brecon Beacon's National Park centre in Wales. The holiday was paid for by Sir Joseph Nickerson in appreciation of the pleasure and enjoyment derived from over 40 years' association with the village. Accompanying the children are Mr. and Mrs. George Plaskitt. The holiday included organised canoeing, mountain trekking, sailing, pony trekking and grass skiing.
